We stayed at the gorgeous Hotel Roanoke which is pretty much what sold me on this destination for a weekend getaway. It was built in the 1800s and is so stunning! The hotel is huge with 2 restaurants and a coffee shop inside & the grounds are just gorgeous. There was a wedding there the weekend we stayed!

Loved the charming view from our room!

Friday morning we went for a "hike" at Carvins Cove about 20 minutes from our hotel. It was more of a nature walk although there are lots of inclines so I was SORE. The lake is surrounded by mountains and the scenery is pretty breathtaking. The only downside is there are no trails that loop so you pretty much just walk until you get tired then have to turn back around!

Roanoke has a ton of local breweries so after our hike, we decided to go to Big Lick Brewing because it had a great outdoor seating set-up. I'm not a beer girl but Steven really enjoyed what he got! It's a very cool vibe and also walking distance to a few other breweries so I highly recommend. |

Saturday morning was a little rainy but that was fine since most activities I wanted to do were indoors. I had seen a lot of posts about the Black Dog Salvage and since I do love antiquing I had to stop by. I have to say--it is a HUGE store but I was pretty disappointed in the selection at least for my taste.

After the Black Dog Salvage, we visited the actual downtown area and it was adorable. They had a farmer's market set up in front of a bunch of the stores/restaurants. I swung into this adorable boutique called 310 Rosemont and wanted to purchase everything in sight!

|
For lunch, I picked up sandwiches and pastries from this charming bakery called "On the Rise." Highly recommend stopping in for coffee/food. |
|
Saturday evening, we ate dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants "The Pine Room." The food was AWESOME and we had a gorgeous view of the famous Roanoke star/mountains.

|
Sunday, we grabbed coffee and pastries from another cute coffee shop "Sweet Donkey Coffee House" before hitting the road.

Hi friends! I hope you guys had a great long weekend. We got back from our trip to Roanoke on Sunday and spent Monday just getting caught up on chores. We booked our trip kind of last minute because I wasn't sure how comfortable we would feel going anywhere this fall but I'm so glad we went!
It was only a few hours from home and the hotel was immaculate. Roanoke is an ADORABLE little city with tons of great restaurants and if you're really into beer, they have a bunch of local breweries. There is also great hiking since it is right in the heart of the VA Blue Ridge mountains. I definitely recommend adding it to your list of places to visit especially in fall!
Absolutely beautiful! I’m so glad you guys did this and I love your snakeskin boots!
