Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend. We spent most of Saturday at home with college football returning! While Steven watched football, I made a wreath and baked some fall goodies. On Sunday, we ventured out to another local vineyard and had such a great time! The weather was totally perfect and the red wine selection was amazing.
Today, I thought it would be fun to share some fall activities you can still do during COVID. All of these are on our list and we're still hoping we can squeeze in a tiny leaf-peeping weekend getaway.
**Fall foliage hiking (& camping if you're brave) - we have been hiking a ton since the start of COVID and we're talking about a camping trip in the next few weeks. Needless to say, I'm not a big camper but Steven is very excited about it so I'll give it a try lol!
**Visit a local brewery or winery with outside seating. We have already made that one of our go-to weekend activities! We are fortunate to live close to so many breweries and wineries and they have all been great with social-distancing measures.
**Pumpkin/apple/sunflower picking - we're definitely planning on visiting one of the local farms to do some pumpkin picking this year. Quite a few places around us require reservations just to ensure safety/social distancing which I appreciate!
**Fall/Halloween Movie Marathon - Pop some popcorn and cozy up with some fall-themed movies! We do love scary movies but some feel-good options I always love watching during autumn months are Practical Magic, You've Got Mail, Hocus Pocus, When Harry Met Sally, St. Elmo's Fire & many more.
**Drive around historic neighborhoods to scope out the fall porch decor! Am I the only one that loves doing this? We're also fortunate to live in an area with plenty of historic towns + DC/Georgetown!
**Light a candle & cozy up with a good fall/spooky book. This is SUCH a great book especially for fall! I also just finished The Shape of Night and think that would be a fun read this time of year.
**Put together a fall picnic with wine and pumpkin treats! You could also have a bonfire & roast some s'mores.
**DIY a fall wreath--If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my first attempt at making a fall wreath! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and it was super relaxing.
**Fall Foliage Drive--Like I mentioned before, I'm hoping we can squeeze in a quick little foliage trip this year but it's looking unlikely since we waited so last minute. This picture was from our trip to Vermont last year. Loved scouting out all the covered bridges!
**Sign up for a Zoom baking class! I know Sur La Table is offering some seasonal online cooking & baking classes. Right now they are still offering summer-themed classes but I'm sure soon they will be switching it up!
What are some COVID-safe activities you love during fall?
I think so many fall activities were actually made for social distancing LOL! I am hoping we make it apple picking next weekend and I love your movie marathon idea! xo, Biana BlovedBoston
