Our Favorite Brunch Spots in Boston!

Happy Monday friends! Hope you had a great weekend. I actually spent mine in Maryland so it was nice to be home for a few days! I am pretty exhausted from the travel because I was there for such a short time and flights were pretty expensive so I ended up taking the train. I took the Acela for the first time and let me tell you--always splurge for the Acela haha!

Sound Bites (Somerville)
If you want really good food for relatively cheap
This restaurant was recommended to us by friends and it actually is very close to where we live! You can't make reservations but they turn tables really quickly and we hardly had to wait when we went. They have a really big menu and I got their Belgian waffles which were AMAZING. Food in Boston is pretty expensive and I found this place to be one of the cheapest meals we've had here! Steven highly recommends their Bloody Mary.

The Paramount (Beacon Hill)
If you want the BEST French Toast and aren't worried about a trendy atmosphere
This is a great spot right in Beacon Hill so if you're planning on exploring the Garden or snapping pictures on Acorn Street, you should definitely try to stop in The Paramount for brunch. One downside is that they don't take reservations and seating is very limited but it's definitely worth the wait! When my best friend, Kate, visited it was the perfect time to go because it was during the week and relatively early. Y'all--I got their French toast which I think had cinnamon, nutella, strawberries and bananas on top and it was the best French toast I've ever had!

Frenchie (South End)
If you want cute pictures and love French food
I am a huge fan of French food--especially the breakfast options/pastries. This was such an adorable little spot with floral wallpaper and a really pretty sun-room area which is where we were seated. I ordered the crepes and a mimosa and they were both fantastic! I took my two best friends when they were visiting and I think this is a perfect spot to stop on a weekend with your gal pals. You can explore the South End after which is such a cute area!

Southern Kin Cookhouse (Somerville)
If you want A LOT of carbs and a good liquor drink
We have probably frequented this spot the most of the ones on this list and it never disappoints. In true Southern fashion, you will get a TON of food for your money and it's all delicious. Think homemade biscuits and a lot of fried options! If you're on a strict diet...I probably wouldn't add this one to your list. They also have a lot of cool drink options so if you're in the mood to booze it up, this would be a great spot for you!

Tatte (Locations all over Boston)
If you want cute pictures and a coffee drink to go
I'm sure if you've ever been to Boston or have planned a trip there, you've been recommended to stop by Tatte or you've just seen one when you've been exploring. There are a bunch of locations and each one is absolutely adorable! I like that they offer sit-down meal options but you can also just grab a pastry and an espresso drink to go. I've been to a few different locations and my personal favorite is the one in the Seaport which I think may be the newest spot. Their avocado toast is my go-to order and it is DELICIOUS!

Pier 6 (Charlestown)
If you want a GORGEOUS view of the city
I will say that I'm not OBSESSED with the food at this place although it is very good. The main reason you want to go here is for the view of the city! It's right on a pier (hence the name) in Charlestown and you basically get a view of the entire skyline. It has a really fun bar scene too on a warm day! I would recommend this place if you're visiting during summer/early fall so that you can sit out on their rooftop area for the full effect.

Hope y'all enjoyed this post and found it useful if you're in Boston or planning to visit soon!

Happy Wednesday friends! I mentioned in my last post that we have had so much rain up here the last few days so it made it pretty impossible to get blog pictures in. I thought it would be fun to share with you some really cute purchases for spring! Honestly, so many of these items are from Abercrombie. If you had told me a year ago that Abercrombie would be one of my go-to stores to shop I would be pretty shocked but WOW. They have so many good items! I LOVE their basic tops and tanks but more than anything I am just obsessed with their jeans--especially this light-wash pair.

Nordstrom Spring Sale Picks!

Jeans, Sandals, Dress, Candle, Clutch, Button-Up, Culottes
Happy Monday friends! I hope you guys had a great Easter weekend. We went to the Cape to visit family and even though it rained almost the whole time we were there, it was so nice and relaxing + great to spring time with family!

I always love shopping any of Nordstrom's sales and right now there are so many great pieces included in the spring sale. I have these distressed Levi's and they are SO good guys. Definitely in my top 3 favorite pairs of jeans! Also--this bodycon dress that everyone raves about really is as good as they say. It's flattering on all body-types, comfortable to wear and super versatile! One thing that I don't have but definitely will be scooping up before the sale ends today is this Cult Gaia bag. A ton of their items are on sale and I am obsessed with every single one of their bags--especially for spring/summer!

With the warmer weather making it's debut I had to share some of my absolute favorite purchases for spring in today's post! This kimono, these jeans, and especially these super cute white mules are all my OBSESSION. I think Abercrombie is my new favorite place to buy denim. I also got these white jeans and they're absolutely amazing too!

Denim on Denim + FF Link-Up!

Top: J.Crew Factory, Bodysuit: American Eagle, Jeans: Topshop, Mules: Kristin Cavallari, Bag: Identical Here
Happy Wednesday friends! Ok real talk--there is SO much going on in my personal life right now that I'll hopefully be able to share soon so I have been really distracted lately. That's why I haven't done any "official" outfit shoots with the more professional DSLR--Steven and I are just exhausted on the weekends or we want to do fun stuff that distracts us so we'll typically just snap a picture or two of my outfit while we're already out. Lately, I've been really enjoying sharing other content with you guys besides just what I'm wearing so I hope you guys are enjoying reading it!

I do have a question for y'all though. Do you mind when outfit post pictures are taken on the iPhone like the ones above or do you really prefer more professional-looking photos? That would be super helpful for me to know! The iPhone is just so much easier but if you prefer photos with a DSLR we'll continue to do that.

10 Items You Need - Spring Capsule Wardrobe!

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! Ours was super nice and relaxing for the most part. We tried to spend as much time outside as possible because it was almost 70 degrees both days!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons to dress for and there are quite a few items that I reach for every year because they are so timeless and versatile! Today, I wanted to share with you my top 10 picks to add to your spring capsule wardrobe. The key with a capsule wardrobe is picking out awesome basics that can be paired with different outfits and styled many different ways.

As you can see just looking at these 10 picks, there are so many possibilities with styling just these pieces together! Below are just a few examples of outfits you can create with just these pieces:

--Pair the denim jacket over the striped dress with the white mules for a more girly spring look
--Style the denim jacket over the striped tee, olive joggers, and sneakers for a casual, "athleisure" look.
--Pair the olive utility jacket over the lace cami, jeans, and sneakers
--Pair the tan cardigan with the lace cami, jeans and mules.
--Take the look above and swap out the jeans with the joggers
--Wear the striped tee, jeans and sneakers on their own OR add the utility jacket

What are some key pieces you need in your spring wardrobe?!

March Book Review!

Happy Monday friends! Hope y'all had a great weekend. Ours was so nice! We had warmer weather which was so great so we tried to get out and walk around as much as possible. Saturday, I did spend most of the day getting my hair done. I went back to lighter balayage and I don't think I've ever been so happy with the results! Sunday, Steven and I went to a super yummy restaurant called Sound Bites for brunch and we walked around Davis Square enjoying the warm weather before the rain came. Once it started raining, we binge watched all of Season 2 of The OA. Do any of y'all watch? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Today, I wanted to share my review of all of my March reads. This month I was REALLY impressed with all of these books so it was hard to rank them!

Image result for the good daughter karin slaughter

The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter: This book was definitely an emotional rollercoaster and hard to read at points because of how graphic some of the violence was depicted. It's essentially about two sisters who witness the murder of their mother and are also brutally attacked when they are quite young. They both follow in their father's footsteps becoming defense attorneys as adults and also cope with the attack in very different ways over the years. They are brought back together by another horrific crime in their hometown forcing them to face their demons from all those years ago head on. I did really enjoy this book and became super invested in the characters because they had been through so much. Karin Slaughter is a great writer but I will say the story overall wasn't my favorite of the bunch. Still would recommend--4/5!

Image result for verity by colleen hoover
Verity by Colleen Hoover: This was an AWESOME book however after I finished it left me questioning whether I need to change up genres for a little while lol! It was quite disturbing in some parts but overall kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. It's hard to summarize this one in-depth without giving too much away but it's essentially about a woman named Lowen who is a struggling writer. She gets the opportunity of a lifetime to finish the series of much more famous writer Verity Crawford who was in a terrible car wreck and is now incapacitated. As Lowen gets closer to Verity's husband and also digs deeper into Verity's past while researching the project, she uncovers some disturbing secrets and all hell breaks loose!
Definitely would recommend this one--4.5/5.

Image result for the wife between us

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen--This book had been on my radar for a while and I'm so glad I finally picked it up. This tells the story of a woman who is happily engaged to a successful hedge fund manager in NYC and also of the scorned and somewhat unstable ex-wife. This book has a MAJOR twist about halfway in that I didn't see coming at all! I had to re-read the page a few times because I was so shocked by the twist haha. The only thing I somewhat disliked about the book was that it jumped around A LOT between different storylines and also past/present tense. Overall though, it was a GREAT story and definitely one of my favorites from this list--4.5/5.

Image result for the breakdown ba paris
The Break Down by B.A. Paris--This one was definitely my favorite of the bunch! Maybe because it was slightly less dark than the rest? I mean don't get me wrong...it still revolves around an unsolved murder but some of the other ones on this list were pretty twisted. This tells the story of a woman named Cassie who, on a rainy night, passes an unknown woman in a broken down car. In a quick decision to protect her own safety, Cassie does not stop to help then later finds out the woman in the broken down car was brutally murdered. Cassie is tormented by guilt and begins to feel like she might be losing her mind...or is she? It's a great story and the twist TOTALLY got me. Definitely didn't see that one coming! Highly recommend. 5/5

Hope y'all enjoyed this book review! Right now I only really have one book on my radar to read next which is No Exit by Taylor Adams. Let me know if you have any recommendations in the comments below!
