Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a great weekend. Ours was nice and relaxing especially after a long, super cold week! If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I was actually in training this entire week and was super busy. Long story short, my company was acquired by another last year and on 1/1 we merged. Because of this my old role was eliminated so I started a new position but thankfully it's with the same company and still in human resources. I'm actually really excited about the change mainly because it's a step forward for my career! That's the main reason I've been not quite as engaged on the blog plus the holidays and being sick. I promise this week I'll be back to my normal posting schedule.
I personally love reading posts and watching grocery hauls since I'm always looking for easy and healthy meal ideas! Trader Joe's is my favorite place to shop because they not only have awesome produce but they also have super yummy and healthy snacks. I also think their prices are pretty amazing considering you're getting Whole Foods quality for way less! Below is sort of a sample of my standard grocery list:
Greens + Other Veggies
Bag of Spinach [use this for salads, omelets and smoothies]
Pre-made salads [Steven and I LOVE the Caesar salads but the Super Green Salad pictures above is my favorite. These are just easy go-tos for lunch]
Zoodles [I buy the pre-spiraled zoodles for convenience and use it for dinner with ground turkey meatballs and marinara]
Broccoli + Brussel Sprouts [I alternate between being obsessed with roasting these. Right now I'm on a broccoli kick. Love roasting broccoli as a side dish for dinner and for throwing in with my quinoa bowls]
Guacamole [I love their pre-made guac with plaintain chips and for my taco bowl dinners]
Cherry Tomatoes [Always have these for salad and I just eating them on their own with hummus]
Carrots [Perfect snack with hummus]
Fruits
Bananas [Always need these for smoothies. Makes them super creamy plus I freeze them when they start going bad]
Raspberries [My favorite fruit to put over smoothie bowls and over oatmeal for breakfast]
Apples [Love sliced apple with almond butter for a filling snack]
Bag of Assorted Frozen Fruit [I make smoothies almost every other morning for breakfast]
Proteins
Lean Ground Beef [Love TJ's ground beef. I make it with zoodles and marinara or season it up and put it over lettuce with salsa, shredded cheese, guacamole and taco chips for yummy taco salads]
Ground Turkey [Not the biggest fan of ground turkey but I like it for meatballs when it's really seasoned up with some breadcrumbs]
Salmon [my favorite protein for dinner--love baking it with a side of broccoli. So easy!]
Chicken [Either use for crockpot meals or just to bake with veggies for dinner]
Snacks
Trail mix [TJ's has the best assortment]
Plantain Chips or Taco Chips with salsa
GoMacro Bars [The only protein bar I like. All super natural ingredients]
Dried Mangos
Hummus [So good with tomatoes or carrots]
Miscellaneous
Granola [Love sprinkling over smoothie bowls or yogurt]
Oatmeal [go-to easy breakfast. I add cinnamon and fruit and YUM]
Almond Milk [I'm basically lactose intolerant so this is necessary for smoothies]
Low-Acid Coffee [TJ's is the only place I've found that sells low-acid coffee. I have horrible acid-reflux but can't bare to give up coffee]
Frozen burritos [Love their burritos for the nights where I don't feel like cooking a full meal]
Dessert
Mango Sorbet Bon Bons [I try not to buy dessert but when I'm craving something sweet these are SO yummy. Dark chocolate over frozen mango sorbet--SO GOOD]
Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds with Sea Salt [Also such a yummy sweet treat. Love the sweet/salty combo]
Hope y'all enjoyed this post and it gave you a little weekly meal inspiration! Would love to hear your favorites from Trader Joe's down below.

They have my absolute favorite raspberries and I love getting their sweet peppers - they are cheaper than any other store! I love that they have premade zoodles - that makes life so much easier! I have to check out Go macro bars! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI love this post!! So helpful! There's a Trader Joe's right next to my gym so I pop in pretty frequently! Love hearing your suggestions! I'll definitely have to try some!

What a fun post! I'd actually love to see more posts like this because I'm always looking for new brands and foods that are on the healthier side to try out. I don't believe we have a Trader Joe's where I live now, we used to. I typically shop at Whole Foods. Those bars look delish, I'd love to try; I'll have to check out the brand. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

Oh how I love TJ's! The closest one is half an hour away with the worst parking lot situation ever, so when I heard one was coming closer to home but then they denied the bid I was heartbroken. My fav grocery spot ever! That super green salad looks amazing, and I need to try their low acid coffee as my acid reflux is no joke either. Congrats on the advancements at work, hope it's a smooth transition <3

Why oh why can’t we have a TJ’s close by. I love the one in Chicago and need one nearby, lol.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about what people pick up at Trader Joe's! I've never tried those mango sorbet bon bons but I really need to pick those up! Yum!
ReplyDeleteGreat shopping items you got here. I am a big Trader Joe's shopper! I love their fruits, and choice of organics for so many different items.
