My Very First YouTube Tutorial--Effortless Beach Waves!
Happy Friday guys! I'm so excited about today's post because I'm sharing my very first YouTube tutorial. Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out but it's so funny/awkward to see yourself on video. There are things I didn't notice that I do--like say "um" or "anyway" a TON so bear with me on that in this video. When I sent it to my friends, I told them to make a drinking game and take a sip of their drink every time I say "um" haha! Self-awareness is a good thing! I actually had so much fun editing it (not that it's anything earth-shattering in the slightest) but I love learning new software and new tools and I'm excited to learn so much more as I go.
I chose to do a tutorial on how I style my hair mainly because over the last year I have seen SUCH an improvement in the health of my hair. I used to blowdry and straighten my hair almost every day on top of coloring it or putting highlights or balayage in it. I think that washing my hair less and using this curling iron has made a huge difference. I only have to curl my hair two times a week (which is how often I wash my hair) and the curls/waves hold up so well in between washes. If you're struggling with dry or damaged hair, I really recommend locking away the straightener and trying to rock the beach wave!
Hope you guys enjoy watching. Hoping to have a new video up in a few weeks! If you guys have any suggestions for video topics I would love to hear. I'm thinking about doing a haul because I did buy quite a few things during all the winter sales as my last hoorah before the wedding haha!

Great video, Kelly! And I love the tutorial. I have been trying to straighten my hair less in the new year (6 entire days haha!). My hair is pretty curly naturally and I haven't always loved it so I've always reached for my straightener. Trying to embrace the curls in 2017! Have a great weekend and yes, the snow was nothing!!

I really see an improvement in hair health when I don't use heat every day. I try to only really style my hair once a week and let it air dry the rest. Can't wait to watch your tutorial. Have a great weekend!

Hi Kelly, loved your video it was so lovely to hear your voice! Your hair routine is great I never thought to use different products on the roots and ends of my hair so might have to try that out myself! Hope you are having a great day!

I cannot tell you how happy I was to see your first video! Your voice is just as beautiful as you are and doing a tutorial on your hair was the perfect first choice! It's beautiful. Happy weekend angel!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first video, girlie! I loved watching the tutorial (I just subscribed) and it was so nice to finally hear your voice, too! I need to get a new wand because the one I have is more tapered instead of one size, so the waves don't come out as consistent in size and shape as I'd like. I also want to try that Bumble & Bumble spray, it sounds great! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have the best weekend ahead!

Your hair always looks fabulous! I've found that washing my hair and using styling tools only once or twice a week has made such a difference as well. Awesome tutorial girl and Happy Friday <3

This is such a cute video! Your hair looks awesome. One of my goals for the new year was to be more active on Youtube as well and I've been thinking of doing a beauty tutorial as well. :-)
